My mom reads constantly, but rarely tells me I need to buy a certain book. This trilogy was one of those times she said I should get them, and she was right. Tracie Peterson is a talented author, and these books are some of her best. If you enjoy Christian Romance you should read them. I typically prefer modern day to historic books, but these were an exception for me.

I always enjoy Tracie Peterson's books and having fallen in love with Alaska made this read extra special. I read the three books in the Song of Alaska series one right after the other. Instead of having parallel characters, these books jump almost a generation although the characters you met (and loved or disliked) in the previous book were re-visited. I wasn't sure I would like that jump but I found that it added a richness to the stories.
Great to read about life going on in Sitka.
Loved how prayers were answered.

I was waiting for book 2 which is Morning's Refrain to come out and now I can't wait to read book 3. Tracie Peterson never dissapoints. I enjoy the 1800's. Even though there were hard times it was simpler times. In each of her stories her characters persevere, overcome and love. In my relationship with Jesus, I persevere, overcome and love. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. In the 1800's Jesus wanted to see how people overcame trials and in 2010 the same. She is an amazing writer. I would like to see her books become movies. I enjoyed reading the first 2 in this serious.
This book shows how limitations for our life, which we set ourselves because of past failures, can be overcome when we only allow God to penetrate our heart with His truth. He loves us and payed the price on the cross to set us free and give us a new start when we seek Him. This story was very heart warming. I live in Alaska myself and appreciate the book being written in this setting. The two books ahead in this series were also very good. I enjoyed all three books.
I was unsure if I would enjoy the second book Morning's Refrain by Tracie Peterson in the series Song of Alaska because of the negative reviews that I read on this book. But since I had read the first book and enjoyed it, I decided to go ahead and purchase it and read it. Well, I am glad I did because I did enjoy it and look forward to the third book coming out soon.

This story takes place 18 years after the first book ends and is about Dalton Lindquist, the son of Lydia Lindquist. He desires to learn more about his past and who his family was before his mother came to Alaska to live. After much soul searching, he decides to leave Alaska for a time and go back to Kansas City with his Aunt Evie to search out the many dark family secrets. The book, of course, also, has a romantic side to it with Dalton falling in love with a woman named Phoebe.
This is a great series by Tracie Peterson. They definitely keep your interest. You get entangled in the lives of the characters. I am presently reading TWILIGHT'S SERENADE,Book # 3, in this Series. I purchased all three together and I am glad I did as I wanted to begin the next book right away. Along with just a good read with good characters, you get a look into the early days of Alaska. A series that you just want to sit down and read until you are finished.
Love it! the story continues after Dalton who was born in book 1 is not 18 years old. What will happen to him now that he is an adult? Will he want to live in Alaska or Kansas City as he explores his past and his family roots? There is history, romance, friendship, community issues, disagreements among family members and friends, and a bit of mystery in the book to keep it all realistic and exciting.
Tracie's style of writing draws the reader in immediately and keeps you hooked throughout the story. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
